On behalf of our school community, I extend to you, a very warm welcome to our website and thank you for visiting. I have a long association with St Patrick's having been the assistant principal from 1999 through to 2005. After nineteen years as principal in 4 Diocesan schools I am very pleased to return to St Patrick's this year.

St Patrick’s Primary School is located in the small township of Lochinvar and is part of the Diocese of Maitland-Newcastle. The school was founded in 1883 on the traditions and strong foundations of the Sisters of St Joseph. The Josephite charism permeates our beautiful school and community. Their legacy has lived on in our St Patrick’s school and our local St Patrick's Parish. As a school, we have a lot to thank the sisters for, as they worked in difficult conditions in the early days to help establish the amazing Catholic schools that we have in Lochinvar today.

We acknowledge the sacred land of the Wonnarua people, past and present upon which our school is located. Our school answers the call every day to serve each other in a true Christ-like fashion; "to never see a need without doing something about it" as Saint Mary MacKillop, founder of the Josephite order lived her life. We deliver quality teaching and learning, in a setting that is inclusive, pastoral and nurturing.

St Patrick’s has high expectations of its students. Application to academic outcomes, attention to wellbeing, stewardship of our school environment, the wearing of school uniform with pride and the respect in which we show to others at school and in the wider community are characteritic of our students. St Patrick’s is a proud Catholic school with the spiritual, academic, social, physical and emotional development of students at the heart of our work.

I would like to acknowledge the hard work and dedication of the staff at St Patrick’s and their unwavering commitment to help each and every one of our students succeed. St Patrick’s prides itself on being a place of learning excellence by providing quality teaching and learning programs that challenge students and nurture creativity, critical thinking and innovation to develop each individual’s full potential. We strive to provide a quality, inclusive Catholic education for the students in our care. Our professional, highly qualified and dedicated staff work together with energy and commitment to ensure the best outcomes for each student. We cannot do this without the support of our school community and are truly blessed here at St Patrick’s to have the cooperation and on-going assistance from our parents and carers.

Our school is an integral part of the St Patrick’s Parish community. Together we are committed to deepening each students’ knowledge of the Catholic story and teachings, modelling Christian values and providing opportunities for prayer, liturgy and service to others.

At St Patrick’s, we offer a broad curriculum with a range of opportunities and experiences to foster growth and development. All students are encouraged to work hard and achieve their personal best, whether it is in the classroom, on the sporting field or through the many opportunities provided for their personal and spiritual development and all-round growth. We aim to meet the diverse learning requirements of each student as an individual and provide a range of specialist programs and services to meet ese requirements. Students are challenged in order to build their ability to thrive as capable young adults in the future.

Our school offers a variety of extracurricular activities including band, percussion, choir, dance, chess club, STEM activities, public speaking, debating and sport, expanding opportunities for students to pursue their various interests and talents. We also facilitate differentiation for students with a high degree of giftedness with entry into the Virtual Academy where they work on personal projects with the assistance of a Diocesan Gifted Education Mentor on line and in person.

St Patrick’s has excellent modern facilities, a specialist Learning Support Team and an onsite OOSH.  St Patrick's is a welcoming, inclusive and safe environment characterised by positive partnerships with parents and the community.

If you would like further information about St Patrick’s or to make an enrolment enquiry, please do not hesitate to contact the school administration staff. St Patrick’s is open to all families who are willing to support the Catholic ethos and the educational, behavioural and social requirements of the school. Whilst a lot of our families live within the local suburban area of the school, our school does draw from a very vast region, from Branxton to Rutherford and out to Lambs Valley and Bishop's Bridge.

Our staff would welcome the opportunity to meet you and to work with you for the benefit of your child.

I hope you enjoy learning about our school through our website and I look forwrd to taking you on a school tour to show you our beautiful school.

Kindest Regards,

Niamh Marzol

Principal
