St Patrick’s provides an efficient and effective school canteen to meet the needs of the school community. Open every Monday, Wednesday and Friday for lunch and recess, the canteen provides a selection of fresh and healthy food choices at an affordable price. The diverse range of food offered and an efficient service are only possible due to voluntary help from parents, friends and relatives of students.

The canteen follows the NSW Healthy School Canteen Strategy. This government initiative labels three groups of foods:

  • Red – Occasional. Do not serve these foods more than twice each term.
  • Amber – Select Carefully. These foods are not to dominate the menu.
  • Green – Fill the menu with these foods.

The Canteen Coordinator (in collaboration with the P&F committee) oversees menu development following these guidelines.
